• Change Of Venue Round 5: Round 5 (1st of September) Has moved. New Venue: Junee NSW (Host Club Wagga Wagga). The Dirt Action Amcross will now be staged a week later on September 8 at the same venue.

• The Citrus Country Open Motocross is being held at the Riverside Raceway at Mundubbera on the 18th August.

• Round 8 of the prestigious Australian Supercross Championships hit Melbourne on the weekend. Exciting racing was assured by the limited for the track, and after the Junior practice, the crew added some fencing after the triple jump for the safety of the riders. • The venue has changed from Altona Downs to the Rockhampton Districts MXC's normal Motocross track at Six Mile Reserve. The Six Mile is on the same road as would have been taken to go to Altona Downs and will be sign posted. Camping will be permitted at this venue and there are hot showers. The track will be modified to suit the meeting which is for old farts, older farts, old farts on old bikes, 4/-s, Quads & Girls.

• Round 1 - Moreton Districts MX - Tivoli Raceway. Under perfect weather conditions Round 1 got under way at Tivoli Raceway Saturday 27th July & concluded Sunday 28th. 450 Riders (510 machines) attended to do battle for the podium &/or to achieve their personal best. Action packed racing was to be seen in all classes, with many battling right up to the finish line.

• Round 2 of the freestyle masters was held at the same venue as lastnights Supercross, and a very decent crowd turned up to view the exciting new, MA sanctioned freestyle event. Dayne Kinnaird won by a quatre of a point over Jono Porter and Luke Urek rounded off the podium in third spot. The event was a literal spectacular, so if you live in Victoria and NSW, it is well worth a look at rounds 3 and 4. Check out some of the photos at the link below. (more photos to come)

• Round 7 of the Australian Supercross Championships was held at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre last night, and what a barn burner it turned out to be. Spokes Promotions bought in all new dirt for the weekend, which made the riders very happy in deed, allowing the track builders to make one of the best tracks seen for a few years. • After recovering from an horrific back injury, sustained at the Tassy SX, Jye Harvey has Injured himself again. Harvey has now ruled himself out of this weekends Supercross Masters, and next weekends Thumper Nationals. This leaves the door open for Aussi Enduro legend Ben Grabham, who will ride Jye's YZ250F in the Pro 250 class along side Chris Urquhart.

• Round one of the Honda ThunderX series kicked off at Warwick yesterday, and there were a few surprises on the podium this weekend. Check out the Qld MX Infor Centre for full results.

• This is still an UNCONFIRMED RUMOR! Word is, arround the pits in America, that Jeremy McGrath might be riding KTM's in next year's AMA Supercross Series. We will let you know more as news comes to hand.

Reed eventually had to try and bump start his 250F.

• Andrew McFarlane was riding the race of his life lastnihgt, contesting the GP of Sweden, working his way up to second behind Frenchman and current 250cc World Champ, Mickael Pichon but had to retire from the race due to mechanical difficulties. Finally some success for wild man of MX, Kim Ashkenazi, now riding in the quatre litre class on a Yamaha. He managed to qualify and finished 19th. Well done Ashcan. Trouble dogged Chad Reeds weekend also. He won the first moto at Red Bud, but crashed in the second moto, but had difficulty restarting his bike. He still sits in second place in points, 27 points behind Bubba Stewart who leeds the AMA 125cc Championship. Again. RC dominated the 250cc class, with Lusk the second most consistent rider on the day.

• In a bold move from Honda Motorcycles, young rising star Danny ("Digsy") Anderson has been signed to ride with Honda O'Neal Racing team for the rest of 2002 and all of the 2003 season.....

• Totally flying underneath AMC's radar this weekend was Sharky's good form in the British Champs. This is what out mate Geoff Meyer had to say on his site, Motocrossgrandprix.com:

"Australian Andrew McFarlane has won the second round of the Future West British International Motocross series, held at the Foxhills circuit in England last weekend. The Kawasaki factory rider won ahead of UK Yamaha’s Justin Morris and VOR mounted Mark Hucklebridge. The bad luck story of the weekend went to Kim Ashkenazi. The Yamaha mounted Aussie looked sure to finish in 5th placed overall, although a flat tyre in his second moto put him back to 10th place.
